Far southern trains resume normal services

NARATHIWAT, THAILAND, May 30 (TNA) - All trains from and to Su-ngai Golok station in Narathiwat Province in the Thai far South, bordering Malaysia, have resumed their normal services after a two-week suspension due to bomb attacks, causing damages to rail tracks in two locations. People have been continually arriving at the Su-ngai Golok train station since early Friday morning, most of whom are students and traders, to board passenger trains. Combined security forces of police, soldiers and even provincial administrative officials have been deployed to strictly oversee public safety at all train stations, railways and on every train. Bomb attacks on May 14 damaged rail tracks in Narathiwat's Joh Ai Rong and Ra-ngae Districts, disrupting normal services of 14 trains operating between the two main far southern stations for 16 days.
