"Feena Khair" coordination committee efforts praised

Manama, May 14 (BNA): Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Board of Trustees Chairman of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the efforts of the coordination committee of “Feena Khair” campaign that is in charge of distributing aid. He directed the committee members to ensure the best use of raised money and guarantee it reaches needy people so as to achieve the goals of the national drive which enjoys a great interest from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and saw an outstanding participation of citizens and expats. HH Shaikh Nasser affirmed the importance of studying the implementation of the projects agreed upon in creative ways that ensure continuous use of them in any future emergency to solve any problem and tackle any deficiency that the beneficiaries of these projects may be exposed to. He stressed the key role played by the coordination committee in the campaign to achieve its noble goals. This came on the occasion of the committee’s second meeting which was held at a distance under the chairmanship of RHF Secretary General Dr. Mustafa Sayed, the committee chairman. The RHF Secretary General highlighted the main results of the meeting during which the committee members commended the great care accorded by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the RHF Honorary President, to ensuring people’s safety in the Kingdom of Bahrain and combating coronavirus (COVID-19). He added the kingdom’s success in handling the crisis earned it a good international reputation and praise from the World Health Organisation (WHO). The committee praised the efforts of the government, spearheaded by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the diligent work of the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (COVID-19), under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, to handle the pandemic by enforcing all international standards and preemptive measures. The committee also commended the efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in supporting and following up on the committee’s work, praising his initiative to allocate BD 5 million from “Feena Khair” campaign to support needy and productive families as well as uninsured workers. The RHF Secretary General said the meeting shed light on visions and proposals concerning the services to be provided through the donated money which include assisting needy families and supporting productive ones, contributing to sterilization and disinfection of villages and cities, providing computers for a number of school students, supporting the needy and helping people with special needs. The committee also underscored the importance of boosting social awareness of coronavirus pandemic by distributing multi-language stickers to meet the needs of all social categories, particularly the expatriate workers who have a high rate of infection with COVID-19 among them. It is worth noting that the committee for coordinating efforts in the national campaign “Feena Khair”, in charge of distributing aid, includes in its membership, in addition to RHF, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the Ministry of Health and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).
