Finance and National Economy Minister meets Woodrow Wilson Centre delegation

Manama, Nov.15 (BNA): Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa paid tribute to Bahraini women, hailing their pivotal role as essential partners in development efforts. He stressed Bahrain’s keenness on promoting women’s status and role, in line with the vision and aspiration of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He praised the dedicated efforts of the Supreme Council for Women(SCW), chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King. The minister made the statement as he met Washington-based Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars Chief Executive Ambassador Mark Green, in the presence of SCW Assistant Undersecretary Shaikha Deena bint Rashid Al Khalifa. The minister outlined initiatives aimed to bolster Bahrain’s economic standing and enhance its competitiveness at the international level, stressing the importance of cooperation to promote gender balance, which would benefit women and support economic development. The meeting also focused on Bahrain’s model of promoting equal opportunities and gender balance, commending the SCW contributions to the inclusion of women in development. Ambassador Green also commended Bahrain’s efforts to promote gender balance, stressing the importance of organizing joint intellectual forums to shed light on these issues.
