Finance Minister receives Japanese official

Manama, Sept. 15 (BNA): Minister of Finance and National Economy, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, stressed the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to boost its competitiveness as a pioneering financial and banking hub in the region by attracting more promising investment opportunities. He praised cooperation between the public and private sectors and the contributions of the financial and banking institutions in this regard. This came during a meeting today with Kenichiro Kitamura, the representative of the President of Japan Bank for International Cooperation in the Middle East. The Minister of Finance and National Economy welcomed the Japanese official, lauding cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Japan in various fields. He stressed the importance to continue exchanging experiences and the best practices in the financial and banking field. Both sides discussed means of boosting cooperation between the two friendly countries and issues of common interest. They also reviewed the latest economic developments at the international level.
