Fire in narcological dispensary in Taldykorgan

Taldykorgan, September 15, 2009 (Khabar) - In Taldykorgan, every family of died patient of narcological dispensary will receive one million tenge on average. Such decision has been taken during the sitting of district maslikhat. The local authorities will also pay for the funeral of victims. All the bodies are identified by present and Almaty medical men have arrived to help their colleagues. Two of hospitalized people have already returned home and six patients are in moderate grave condition. Two patients were burnt for 100% and are in grave condition. On Sunday, at 5 28 a.m. the fire department received a telephone call about ignition of one of buildings of narcological dispensary and fire fighters arrived to the accident site almost at once. But fire seized the whole building by that time and area of inflamed object was 400 square meters. There were 78 people in narcological dispensary and 41 of them were rescued, 10 people were hospitalized. 37 people died including nurse and hospital attendant. Nurse had two children and was replacing her colleague at that unfortunate morning. 18 died patients were from Taldykorgan and the others came from districts.
The governmental commission on investigating of fire reasons and liquidation of tragedy consequences has been founded according to the decision of Prime Minister. Commission led by deputy prime minister Serik Akhmetov has arrived to Taldykorgan and examined the tragedy site, visited hospitalized people and visited several families of dead patients and expressed condolences to relatives. It turned out the narcological dispensary was made of cane in 1951 and that’s why the object inflamed at once.

Serik Akhmetov has said the firefighters received a telephone call a little bit later but in general they worked quickly. It is supposed that human factor and defective electric wiring caused the fire in narcological dispensary. Criminal case is begun on this accident. The participants of the irregular sitting of district maslikhat have decided to give one million tenge on average to every family of died patient. Bolat Tayekenov has informed the regional budget will pay for funerals. The maslikhat deputies have revered the memory of dead people with silence minute and funerals are to be held on September 15.
