Fireworks display to illuminate sky at BIC

Manama, Dec. 12 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister and marking the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al Fateh, the 45th Anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's 17th Anniversary of Accession to the Throne, the largest and most spectacular fireworks display will be held at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir. Friday’s fireworks show is scheduled for a 7pm start. The fireworks are one of the major highlights of this year’s BIC National Day Festival, which is scheduled to take place on December 14-17. They have never failed to amaze in past years, with tens of thousands gathering to watch in awe the brilliant colour and lights dancing with the stars in the Sakhir sky. Members of the public will not only be able to enjoy the show from within the BIC facilities, but they can also enjoy them for free from the surrounding areas. Aside from the fireworks, also set to be a major part of the festivities is a series of concerts featuring six of the biggest names in all of Arabic music, including popular Bahraini singers Khaled Fouad, Dalia, Khamis Zuwayed, Mohammed Jomairi and Basel Ahmed, and Kuwaiti superstar Abdulla Al Rowaishid. There will also be a traditionally styled shopping experience with plenty on offer, plus a corporate exhibition space, children’s activities and a play area, cultural shows, food and beverage outlets, and so much more. Organised for the fourth successive year, the festival is a perfect platform to showcase what the business community has to offer in a social atmosphere. Doors will be open daily from 4pm to 10pm. Entrance is 500 fils. Tickets are available at the gate. Follow us on our Instagram account @BIC_NATIONALDAY to get updates on the BIC National Day Festival.
