First edition of Bahrain Food Product Excellence Award held

Manama, Jan. 24 (BNA): Under the patronage of Mr. Zayed R. Alzayani, the Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, the Food and Agriculture committee of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an honouring ceremony headed by board member Mr. Khalid Alamin for the winners of Bahrain Food Product Excellence Award. The ceremony was held at Bait Al Tijjar the in presence of a large number officials and representatives of Bahraini food companies participating in the award. On this Occasion, the minister expressed the government’s appreciation of all events and initiatives undertaken by Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He added that "the government of Bahrain supports and encourages all initiatives and projects that contribute to highlight Bahrain’s image in all sectors. Food industry is one of the most promising sectors that the government encourages investors to access it especially in light of the large facilities provided by the government for such projects." Head of Food and Agriculture committee Mr. Khalid Al-Amin said that this award aims to encourage local product and motivate the Bahraini food companies to improve their performance and competitiveness and push local investment. Ten companies participated in the award and the winner will have the award logo on its product for two years.
