First Turkish Cypriot president discharged from hospital

LEFKOSA (A.A) - October 29, 2011 - The first president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was discharged from hospital on Saturday.
Rauf Denktas was discharged 160 days after he had suffered from partial paralysis.
Denktas was taken to his house in Girne, TRNC. Health equipment has been placed in Denktas' house, and doctors of Girne military hospital and a health team from the Near East University Hospital will continue taking care of Denktas at home.
Denktas had a partial paralysis caused by an embolism on May 24. After his first surgery in Lefkosa, he underwent another operation at Ankara's GATA on August 25.
Rauf Denktas was taken to TRNC on August 30, and his treatment continued at the Near East University Hospital.
Denktas underwent another surgery at the Near East University Hospital on September 5 due to an increasing cerebral hemorrhage.
