Fiscal Balance Programme's positive preliminary results highlighted

Manama, Dec. 30 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Financial, Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance affirmed that the Fiscal Balance Programme constitutes the roadmap that guides Bahrain’s general finance to achieve equilibrium between expenditures and revenues by 2022. This came as the Deputy Premier received Arab Monetary Fund (AMF)’s Board Chairman Dr. Abdulrahman Abdullah Al Hamidy today in presence of Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa. During the meeting, Shaikh Khalid hailed the leadership’s directives and the Government’s constant follow up of this programme at the highest strata to ensure the ministries' and governmental entities' ideal implementation of the programme policies and initiatives which within record timespan yielded encouraging positive preliminary results including the accomplishment of certain goals as attested by global rating agencies that raised Bahrain’s rating to ‘stable’ degree. The AMF board chairman praised the Kingdom’s measures aimed to achieve Fiscal Balance by 2022 proceeding in the right path according to preset plan. They also reviewed the cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain’s government and the Arab Monetary Fund and means of boosting it, as well as other topics of mutual interest.
