Fish contraband
Atyrau, October 17, 2009 (Khabar) - Policemen of Atyrau during the “Bekre” operation have found 30 tons of fish that was caught by poachers.
In total from the beginning of the year more than 115 tons of fish and the fish production including 4 tons of the sturgeon prepared by an illegal way were confiscated. Fish was stored in two refrigerators on city suburb. The owner of fish did not have the documents that explain its origin. During check of legality of occurrence of these 30 tons of fish policemen have detained some cars which have arrived for unloading with new parties of a pike perch. It was found this fish also has been caught by an illegal way. 12 citizens of the Uzbekistan who has driven in our country under the guest visa were accused in preparation of illicit production for storage. And guest visa does not grant the right to be engaged in labor activity. All of them will be turned out of the country boarders.

- Now the investigation should define where and how such big amount of fish was prepared by the poachers. And also we will find out where it was planned to be delivered because there are proposals that the fish was prepared to be transported outside of Kazakhstan.
