Flood evacuees at government shelters close to 10,000

BANGKOK, November 11 (TNA) - The number of flood-affected people at temporary shelters, provided by the Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports, has climbed to 7,870 as of November 10. The latest figure was released on Friday by Permanent Secretary for Tourism and Sports Dr. Suwat Sittilo, covering those staying at the government's shelters in Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Ayutthaya, Saraburi and Chonburi Provinces since October 25. Almost three million people in dozens of provinces, including Bangkok, have been affected by the vast flooding since late July, the worst in the country in about half a century. (TNA)
