Floods concern HM the King
BANGKOK, Aug 25 (TNA) -- His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn is concerned about flooding in provinces and instructs officials to take the best care of affected people.
Government spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd quoted Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha as saying that His Majesty the King was concerned about flooding in many areas and advised relevant officials to do their best to help flood victims.
The government was following His Majesty the King’s instruction and managing national water resources in compliance with guidelines from late King Bhumibol.
Lt Gen Sansern also said that the Office of National Water Resources, the Royal Irrigation Department, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, the Interior Ministry and organizations in flooded provinces joined forces to effectively help flood victims.
The government spokesman said flooding remained in Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom and Phetchaburi provinces and officials were monitoring the levels of main rivers due to persistent rain. He expected flooding in Phetchaburi to be alleviated in five days.
The prime minister ordered concerned organizations to regularly update people on water situations so that they could be prepared to cope with impacts in advance, Lt Gen Sansern said. (TNA)
