FM, His Cuban Counterpart Discuss Bilateral Relations And Ways To Develop Them
Baghdad / NINA / - Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers discussed during the meeting the relations between the two countries, and ways to advance them to achieve the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.
The Minister stressed the importance of scientific and cultural cooperation between Baghdad and Havana, and the signing of memoranda of understanding in various fields.
According to the statement, the two sides discussed the contents of cooperation in the topics on the agenda of the United Nations at its 77th session, mutual support between the two countries in international organizations and conferences, and issues related to membership and candidacy, in addition to discussions that touched on the economic and political situation, and the ongoing preparations for Cuba to assume the presidency of the Group of 77 + China, as well as Iraq's presidency of the same group in 2025.
For his part, the Cuban Minister affirmed his country's readiness to strengthen relations with Iraq in various political, economic, cultural and trade fields, expressing his government's thanks for Iraq's supportive stances at the United Nations, pointing to his country's readiness to cooperate with Iraq.
At the end of the meeting, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein extended an official invitation to the Cuban Foreign Minister to visit Iraq in the context of strengthening relations between the two countries./ End
