Foreign Minister attends 5th EU-LAS meeting in Brussels

Brussels, (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, participated in the 5th EU-League of Arab States (LAS) ministerial meeting, held in Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium, with the presence of the Foreign Ministers of the Member States the League of Arab States as well as the Foreign Ministers of the European Union States. The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation and partnership between the EU and LAS at all levels to overcome the various challenges they face, as well as provide a safer environment and achieve further progress, development, and prosperity. The meeting also addressed various issues, primarily the Palestinian cause, in addition to the Syrian conflict, the situation in the Republic of Yemen, and the issue of migration. They also discussed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two sides for further security and stability in the world and resolve international disputes. This meeting comes in preparation for the EU-Arab Summit to be held on February 24-25, 2019 in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
