Foreign Minister attends GCC meeting with Egypt

Manama, Dec. 12 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani attended the GCC meeting with Egypt in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The meeting session was chaired by Saudi Saudi Foreign Minister, Chairman of the current GCC Ministerial Council, in the presence of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the GCC Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf. They reviewed strong brotherly relations between the GCC countries and Egypt and means of further strengthening ties at all levels. They also stressed the importance of unifying positions and reinforcing joint coordination between the two sides, in addition to supporting peace efforts in the interest of all people of the region. The Egyptian Foreign said that the security of the GCC is crucial to the Arab Republic of Egypt, noting the need to intensify coordination between the two sides in a way that supports and enhances security and stability in the region. He also expressed his confidence in the success of the GCC Summit, which will be held in Riyadh next Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
