Foreign Minister holds call with Moroccan counterpart

Manama, Oct.7 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, held a phone call today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco, Nasser Bourita. During the call, the two Ministers affirmed the depth of and cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Morocco, and its development in all areas in light of the great attention paid by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco. The two ministers reiterated constant desire to promote bilateral relations to serve the interests of the two countries and people. Dr. Al-Zayani expressed the appreciation of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the sincere efforts exerted by Morocco to hold a second round of the Libyan dialogue sessions between the delegations of the Supreme Council of State and the Parliament of Tobruk in the city of Bouznika, Kingdom of Morocco. The two Libyan sides reached comprehensive understandings that were agreed upon about the controls, mechanisms and criteria for selecting the occupants of the leadership positions of the sovereign institutions in Libya stipulated in the Skhirat Agreement. Dr. Al-Zayani also hailed this great step that would help reduce tension and advance efforts to reach peaceful political solutions to the ongoing conflict in Libya, in a way that contributes to preserving Libya's sovereignty, security and stability. For his part, Mr. Bourita stressed the keenness of the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco to promote bilateral cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in various fields, as well as joint coordination on different issues. He extended his thanks to the Foreign Minister for this kind gesture, emphasizing that Morocco will continue its efforts to establish peace in Libya. He also underlined the importance of the international community cooperation on supporting a political solution to the Libyan crisis, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
