Foreign Minister lauds Bahrain-UK ties

London, Nov. 30 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, affirmed that the course of relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom is witnessing a remarkable progress in all areas of cooperation.
In a speech at the annual dinner hosted by the Bahrain-British Friendship Society, Shaikh Khalid praised the historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom and the progress in various fields after more than 200 years of collaboration that has resulted in the important growth of the political, economic and military ties.
The minister said that the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Charles to Bahrain, his exploration of the Bahraini society with its diversity, plurality, tolerance and coexistence between all of its components was an additional opportunity to expand the deep-rooted distinguished relations between the two countries.
Shaikh Khalid expressed keenness on the visit of Prime Minister Theresa May to Bahrain in December, saying that it underlines the strategic value represented by the relations between the two countries and reflects a shared determination to promote more prospects for cooperation at all levels.
Shaikh Khalid praised the role of the Bahrain-British Friendship Society in strengthening relations between the two countries, offering wishes of continuous success in its various activities to bring the two countries and societies even closer.
British Undersecretary of State for Middle East Affairs Tobias Ellwood affirmed the strength and diversity of the distinct ties between the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Bahrain, praising their steady progress at all levels.
