Foreign Minister meets British Minister of State for Asia and Middle East

London, Jun 16 (BNA): Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, held a meeting in London today, Thursday, June 16, 2022, with the British Minister of State for Asia and the Middle East at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Development and Commonwealth of the United Kingdom, Amanda Milling, within the framework of the fourteenth meeting of the Bahraini-British Ministerial Working Group. During the meeting, Dr. Alzayani stressed the importance of this meeting, which comes in the wake of the successful visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to the United Kingdom last month. He noted that the meeting is a good opportunity to review the progress made since the last working group meeting last year, and to reflect on ongoing and future projects between the two countries. He expressed Bahrain's welcome to the Kingdom's recent inclusion in the electronic visa system in the United Kingdom as an important means to facilitate travel between the two countries, and to deepen relations between individuals at all levels. For her part,. Amanda Milling praised the development of bilateral relations and cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom in various fields, stressing the importance of working to expand the horizons of joint cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, they discussed areas of joint cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance them to serve common interests. The two sides also discussed the political and security developments in the region, including the war in Yemen, the Iranian nuclear file, the war in Ukraine, and a number of issues on the regional and international arenas. The two ministers then chaired the fourteenth meeting of the Bahraini-British ministerial working group, where they reviewed issues and topics on the agenda, including security cooperation, multilateral cooperation, trade cooperation, human rights protection, justice affairs, health care, education and research, strategic communications, and climate change. They then signed the joint statement between the two sides, in which they affirmed their common desire to support their bilateral cooperation in vital fields, and to continue exchanging knowledge and experience between them. They also noted the importance of these relations at the bilateral and regional levels, and agreed to enhance cooperation between them, especially within the framework of Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Head of Public Security, Lieutenant-General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, the Undersecretary for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade,. Iman Ahmed Al-Dosari, the Coordinator in the office of the Prime Minister, Yara Reda Faraj, the Assistant Undersecretary for Domestic and Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Shaikh Hamad bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Director General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Affairs, Ambassador Talal Abdul Salam Al Ansari, and the Chief of European Affairs sector of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,. Ahmed Ibrahim Al Quraines, and the delegation accompanying the Minister. On the British side, the UK ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Roddy Drummond, and senior officials from the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Development and Commonwealth participated in the meeting.
