Foreign Minister meets EU official

Washington, Mar.22 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met with the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini on the sidelines of the meeting of the International Coalition against the terrorist organization "Da'ash" in Washington. The Minister praised the friendly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union, highlighting the important role played by the European Union in achieving security and stability at the regional and international levels, expressing his appreciation for the efforts of Mrs. Mogherini to develop relations between the GCC and the European Union. Mrs. Mogherini praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in supporting regional and international efforts to enhance security, establish peace and address the crises facing the countries of the region. Shaikh Khalid also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia, Mrs. Julie Bishop where she reviewed the friendly relations between the two countries and means of enhancing these relations in various fields in a way that meets their ambitions and achieves their interests, affirming the importance of visits between officials of the two countries to broaden fields of cooperation at all levels. A number of topics of common interest were also reviewed during the meeting. (MOFA).
