Foreign Minister meets Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister

Manama, Dec. 4 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, met Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the brotherly Republic of Iraq, Fouad Hussein, who arrived here today to participate in the 16th Manama Dialogue, set to be held on 4-6 December. Dr. Al-Zayani welcomed the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, expressing his pride in and appreciation of the path of bilateral relations existing between Bahrain and Iraq, praising the development and growth of these relations in various fields. He also wished Iraq and its people security, stability and prosperity. Deputy Prime Minister Fuad Hussein affirmed the depth of relations between Bahrain and Iraq, praising the vital role played by Bahrain to establish security and stability in the region. He stressed the keenness of Iraq to develop cooperation with Bahrain in various fields. He wished Bahrain further progress and prosperity. They discussed the cooperation existing between both countries, and ways to enhance it in various fields to serve the common interests of both countries and peoples, in addition to developments in the regional situation and issues of common interest. The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Regional and GCC Affairs, Ambassador Wahid Mubarak Sayyar, Assistant Undersecretary for GCC and Arab Countries Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Muhammad Jamil, and senior officials in the Ministry, and on the Iraqi side it was attended by the Iraqi Chargé d'Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Adnan and the accompanying delegation.
