Foreign Minister meets Serbia‘s National Assembly Speaker

Moscow, June 3 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, today met the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, as part of his visit to the Russian Federation to participate in the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum. The Minister expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain's pride in and appreciation for the distinguished friendship relations between the two countries and stressed the Kingdom of Bahrain's keenness to consolidate bilateral cooperation and advance them to more comprehensive levels in various fields for common interests. Dr. Zayani also praised the results of the recent visit of the President of the Republic of Serbia to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the talks he had with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which revealed a mutual desire to develop the level of cooperation between the two countries to serve common interests. He noted the successful visit of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian and Youth Affairs, to the Republic of Serbia last April, which contributed to the consolidation of bilateral cooperation frameworks between the two friendly countries. The National Assembly Speaker of the Republic of Serbia praised the level of friendship relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Serbia, based on the principles of mutual respect and appreciation. He stressed the interest of his country in developing bilateral cooperation and exchanging visits and joint cooperation at the parliamentary level, wishing the Kingdom constant progress and prosperity. During the meeting, which was attended by Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Moscow, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Saati, Director General of the affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Talal Abdul Salam Al Ansari, and a number of the Ministry’s officials, a number of topics and issues of common interest were also reviewed.
