Foreign Minister meets with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva

Geneva, Nov. 10 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, met, within the framework of his visit to Geneva, with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, HE Michelle Bachelet. They discussed bilateral cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in the field of protecting human rights. They stressed the importance of continuing joint work to meet common goals. They also reviewed the prominent role played by OHCHR in the field of promoting and protecting human rights at the international level, and the continuous efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Bahrain in implementing the directives of His Majesty the King to further develop the human rights system in the Kingdom. The meeting was attended by the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations Office and Other International Organizations in Geneva, HE Ambassador Dr. Yousef Abdulkarim Bucheeri.
