Foreign minister participates in 15th ACD Ministerial Meeting
Abu Dhabi, Jan. 17 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, participated today in the 15th Ministerial Meeting of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) "Sustainable Energy", held in the United Arab Emirates.
Shaikh Khalid, in a speech, affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has always sought to advance cooperation in all areas of the ACD through exchanging experiences and views on ways to meet challenges in order to achieve Asian Economic Integration.
The Minister highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s accords special interest to sustainable development and to achieving its objectives, particularly those relating to energy by forging partnerships with Asian countries in this field, believing in the vital role and large potential of the Asian continent in the global economy.
Shaikh Khalid stated that the Kingdom of Bahrain, as an active member in supporting the joint Asian plan of action, seeks with the utmost determination and with cooperation with friends and partners in this dialogue to stay updated with regional and international developments and to strengthen dialogue mechanisms.
The Minister highlighted the events to be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain this year including a workshop on the use of carbon to enhance oil production and another on the relationship between energy and water, both scheduled for February this year and the Middle East Oil and Gas Show and Conference, (MEOS 2017), scheduled for March.
Shaikh Khalid expressed Bahrain's aspiration to host the first meeting of the Secretaries General of the regional and sub-regional organizations and forums in Asia which will be an important step to consolidate inter-Asian States- relations.
