Foreign Minister receives call from British State Minister

Manama, May 4(BNA): Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani received a telephone call from the Minister of State for Middle East and North Africa at Foreign Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom. During the call, the two sides reviewed the friendly relations and strategic cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom and the efforts exerted to enhance and develop them for the common interest. They also discusses the efforts exerted to combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in both countries and means of cooperation between them in this regard. The Minister of State praised the existing cooperation between the two friendly countries and their mutual desire to enhance bilateral relations. He also expressed his aspirations for holding the Joint Cooperation Committee in the near future. He underlined continuous cooperation in the health sector, stressing the need to exchange expertise and knowledge between them to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. He also expressed the British Government’s gratitude to the efforts exerted by the authorities in Bahrain to ease the return of British citizens stranded in several Asian countries to the United Kingdom. The two ministers also stressed the strength of the deep-rooted relations between the two countries, hailing the mutual keenness of both countries to develop these relations.
