Foreign Minister receives call from UN Special Coordinator for Middle East Peace Process

Manama, May 24 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, received a phone call from the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Mr. Nickolay Mladenov. They reviewed the latest developments and efforts in the region in establishing peace. The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the Palestinian issue is firm and solid, and that it has been and will continue to support the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people to restore their legitimate rights and establish their independent state. The minister pointed out that the workshop "Peace for Prosperity" to be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, reflects its keenness to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people in development and prosperity and support initiatives to help the Palestinian economy, stressing that the workshop has no other goal, and that the Kingdom of Bahrain will remain steady in its position, which stands firmly with the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people. Mr. Nickolay Mladenov praised the good efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Bahrain to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue and to support all means of achieving security and peace in the Middle East.
