Foreign Minister receives Indian Minister of Home Affairs

Manama, Oct. 24 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received today the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of India Rajnath Singh, who is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Shaikh Khalid praised the outstanding historical ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of India and the progress of these relations in various fields. He affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to bolster ties for further cooperation with the Republic of India for the benefit of their interests, praising the existing cooperation between the two countries on regional and international issues, the joint interests towards promoting security and peace in the region as well as the efforts and contributions of the Indian community to the development in the Kingdom. Mr Singh praised the strong ties between his country and the Kingdom of Bahrain, which he said centered on a long history of communication and cooperation as well as the progress, development, coexistence and tolerance in the Kingdom of Bahrain, wishing Bahrain further prosperity. The meeting also discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest. (MOFA)
