Foreign Minister receives Pakistani ambassador

Manama, Feb. 24 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani received in his office at the Ministry’s General Court today, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Afzaal Mahmood, who handed him a letter to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa from Prime Minister Imran Khan inviting His Majesty the King to visit the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed deep-rooted relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, expressing appreciation of growing bilateral relations which reflect common keenness to enhance them. He also stressed the role of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in maintaining stability and security at the regional and international levels. For his part, Mr. Afzaal Mahmood congratulated Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on the royal trust bestowed upon him through his appointment to his post, stressing keenness of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to enhance relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain for the common interests of the two countries and peoples, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity. The meeting was also attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa. (MOFA)
