Foreign Minister receives Palestinian official

Manama, Nov. 22 (BNA): Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa today received Member of the Central Committee, President of Palestine Olympic Committee and Head of the Palestine Football Association, Jibril Rajoub. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Palestine to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Taha Mohammed Abdulqader. The minister stressed that reaching a just and comprehensive peace in the region has become an imperative necessity, which requires the mustering of all regional and international efforts to establish a region of stability and safety. The minister affirmed the Kingdom’s continuous support to the rights of Palestinians people, including the establishment of their independent state based on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the basis of the two-states solution and the return of Palestinian refugees, in accordance with the relative international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. For his part, Jibril Rajoub expressed the appreciation of the Palestinian leadership and people for the Kingdom’s supportive stances to the Palestinian issue in all regional and international forums. He also wished the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
