Foreign Minister receives phone call from his Pakistani counterpart

Manama, Jan. 10 (BNA): Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, received a phone call from Pakistan's Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi. The two sides reviewed the distinguished relations between the two countries and exchanged views on the latest developments in the region. Minister Qureshi commended the recent visit of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, to Bahrain, which confirms the depth of the brotherly relations between the Kingdom and Pakistan and the ongoing progress on various levels. He also hailed Bahrain's tireless efforts to establish security and stability in the region, confirming that Pakistan continues to coordinate with the Kingdom on all issues of common concern. Shaikh Khalid expressed the Kingdom's pride in the strong historical relations it shares with Pakistan, and the development it has reached in various fields. The minister stressed Bahrain's long-standing aspiration to document all aspects of fruitful cooperation in a way that supports common interests for the two countries and brotherly people, noting the important role of Pakistan and its commitment to peace, security and stability at the regional and international levels. They also emphasized the importance of de-escalation at this stage in order to preserve regional and international peace and security.
