Foreign Minister receives UN Resident Coordinator’s credentials

Manama, Jun 5 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, received at the Ministry today Ambassador Khaled El-Mekwad, who presented his credentials as Resident Coordinator of United Nations Activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Minister affirmed Bahrain's support to the UN Resident Coordinator in performing his diplomatic duties in a way that enhances the strong partnership between the Kingdom and the UN. For his part, Ambassador El-Mekwad expressed thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for his interest in strengthening cooperation with the United Nations in various fields to achieve common interests, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain continued progress and prosperity. The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Talal Abdulsalam Al-Ansari.
