Foreign Minister receives UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Road Safety

Manama, Mar. 28 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, received in his office at the Ministry today, the United Nations General Secretary's Special Envoy for Road Safety, Jean Todt, in the presence of the Undersecretary for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Director of European and European Union Affairs, Ambassador Shaikha Aysha bint Ahmed Al Khalifa and the Director of Organizations, Ambassador Fatima Abdullah Al-Dhaen. The Foreign Minister praised cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations in various development fields, expressing the kingdom's appreciation for the cooperation shown by the UN agencies and offices to support the comprehensive development process in the Kingdom of Bahrain. For his part, the Special Envoy praised sustainable development in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting the great efforts of the government in the field of implementing traffic projects. He also commended the kingdom's achievements in organising the Formula 1 race, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity. The two sides discussed aspects of cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UN agencies.
