Foreign minister receives UNCITRAL secretary-general

Manama, May 10 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, today received at the Ministry’s General Court, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), Renaud Sorieul, Chair of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA), Shaikha Haya bint Rashid Al Khalifa, and the Chamber’s Chief Executive Officer, Professor Naseeb Ziyada. The minister welcomed Renaud Sorieul and praised UNCITRAL's role in settling international trade disputes and developing international trade rules to increase trade exchange volume among world states and support their development efforts, wishing UNCITRAL every future success. Sorieul expressed happiness over his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain and meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs, hailing Bahrain’s economic status and its risk-free environment that attracts investors and provides them with the needed protection. He affirmed the Committee’s keenness on cooperating with the Kingdom of Bahrain in all fields, notably in what pertains to international trade and its governing rules, wishing Bahrain constant progress and prosperity.
