Foreign Minister receives US Naval Forces Central Command, Fifth Fleet Commander

Manama, Oct. 27 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, received today the US Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) and Fifth Fleet Commander, Vice-Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper, in the presence of Chargé D'Affaires of the US Embassy in Bahrain, Margaret Nardi. The Foreign Minister welcomed Vice-Admiral Cooper, stressing the depth of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the USA, which are based on mutual respect. He stressed Bahrain's keenness to further promote strategic partnership with the USA and boost bilateral cooperation in various fields to serve common interests. For his part, the US Commander praised close friendly relations between both countries, stressing Bahrain’s prominent role in promoting security and stability in the region. He wished the Kingdom further development. The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary for Political Affairs, HE Ambassador Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Liaison Officer (Bahrain), Major Jennifer Blake, and Flag Aide to COMUSNAVCENT, Captain Christopher Ferris.
