Foreign Minister stresses Bahrain's solidarity with blast-hit Lebanon

Manama, Aug.5 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, held a phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the brotherly Republic of Lebanon, Charbel Wehbe, in the wake of the massive explosion that occurred yesterday in the Port of Beirut. He conveyed the condolences of His Majesty the King to the brotherly Republic of Lebanon in this painful disaster, and the solidarity of the people of Bahrain with the brotherly Lebanese people as well as their support in overcoming these difficult times. He underlined the directives of HM the King to the Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, assigning the Royal Humanitarian Foundation to dispatch urgent humanitarian relief to Lebanon to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese people. He stressed the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and people. He also indicated that the first batch of aid will contain the necessary medical supplies for such circumstances. For his part, Minister Wehbe extended the thanks and appreciation of the Lebanese government and people for this kind gesture, hailing the directives of His Majesty the King to provide assistance to Lebanon to help it face the repercussions of this painful disaster. He also stressed the gratitude of the Lebanese government for the sympathy and solidarity shown by the Kingdom of Bahrain with the Lebanese people and its keenness to provide support in these difficult times.
