Foreign Ministry’s undersecretary meets Philippines official

Manama, July 10 (BNA): Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, met the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Philippines for Migrant Workers Affairs, Sarah Lou Arriola, during her official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain from 7-10 July. Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa commended the active role of the Filipino community and its contribution to the development process in the Kingdom of Bahrain, expressing her appreciation for the efforts of the Embassy of the Republic of Philippines in promoting bilateral relations at all levels. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to develop and enhance bilateral cooperation with the friendly Republic of the Philippines at all levels to serve the common interests and aspirations of the two friendly countries. She also referred to the Kingdom of Bahrain's endeavours to provide more facilities and flexible ways of living a decent life to all communities residing in the Kingdom, including the Filipino community, in order to ensure living in a peaceful and open environment. Undersecretary of the Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Philippines for Migrant Workers Affairs praised the strong relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of the Philippines and the interest shown by the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Filipino community and the satisfaction of the community with its presence in the Kingdom, congratulating the Kingdom of Bahrain for receiving a Tier 1 ranking in combating trafficking in persons according to the report issued by the US Department of State for 2019, which came to confirm the continued presence of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the category of developed countries and the most successful in combatting trafficking in persons for the second year in a row, wishing continued fruitful cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields in a way that supports the hopes of both countries and peoples. It is worth noting that this visit is within the framework of the common will of the two friendly countries to enhance the historical relations that link them, and develop their cooperation for their common interests in various fields.
