Foreign Ministry summons Lebanese ambassador, hands him protest memo

Manama, Oct. 27 (BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Ambassador of Lebanon to Bahrain today and handed him a memo of protest expressing the Kingdom’s strong condemnation of the false and offensive statements made by the Lebanese Minister of Information towards Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The memo also condemned the baseless allegations he made regarding the course of the war in Yemen that are refuted by internationally documented facts and evidence. In the memo, the ministry confirmed that the crimes and violations committed by the terrorist Houthi group against Yemen and its people, and its continuous attacks on Saudi Arabia since its illegal coup against the government disprove these irresponsible statements. The ministry added that the statements violate diplomatic norms, constitute a deliberate offence to the countries of the coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen, and ignore the principles and values that govern fraternal relations among Arab countries.
