Foreign Ministry Undersecretary chairs third Bahrain-Brazil political consultations

Manama, Sept. 24 (BNA): The third meeting of the political consultations between Bahrain and Brazil was held virtually under the co-chairmanship of Foreign Affairs Ministry Undersecretary for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and Secretary of Bilateral Negotiations in the Middle East, Europe and Africa Ambassador Kenneth Félix Haczynski da Nóbrega
They discussed projects, cooperation, and means of developing bilateral relations, as well as coordinating positions on issues of common concern.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah affirmed Bahrain's interest in developing close relations with Brazil, in light of the political consensus and mutual keenness to exploit available economic opportunities, praising the good and positive results of the previous consultations and meetings between the two countries, as well as the outcome of his official visit to Brazil last year.
The undersecretary indicated that the Kingdom is looking forward to consolidating the promising commercial and investment relations with Brazil, and let Brazil benefit from the success of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, in diversifying the national economy, and focusing on the sectors of smart production, entrepreneurship, renewable energy, banking and tourism.
He said that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries has increased significantly since last year, leading to a growing trade partnership between the two friendly countries.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah called for intensifying cooperation to confront the repercussions of the "emerging coronavirus", reviewing the distinguished efforts and effective measures of Team Bahrain, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
He noted Bahrain's vision and its approach based on understanding and cooperation, stressing that it is a humanitarian model in tolerance, coexistence and rapprochement between different peoples and cultures, explaining that the foreign policy of the two countries is based on strengthening international cooperation, sustainable development, peace sovereignty, and environmental protection.
Nóbrega expressed his country's aspiration to develop relations Bahrain in all fields, praising the pioneering and responsible role of the Kingdom in consolidating the pillars of peace and stability in the Middle East region and valued the encouraging fruitful results of the third round of consultations between the two friendly countries.
