Foreign Ministry Undersecretary meets the Executive Director of IISS in Middle East

Manama, Aug. 18 (BNA): Foreign Affairs Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, met at the Ministry's General Court, with the Executive Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in the Middle East, Sir Tom Beckett. The undersecretary praised the important role played by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in the Middle East in studying and analyzing the issues, challenges and conflicts the countries of the region and the world are facing, and in discussing ways to solve them in order to establish security and stability. Dr. Shaikha Rana stressed the importance of continuing cooperation and coordination and promoting it to broader and more comprehensive horizons in order to achieve common interests, wishing further success to Sir Tom Beckett and to all those in charge of the institute. Sir Tom Beckett hailed the great and endless support that IISS receives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which greatly contributes to achieving its goals and aspirations, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity. The two sides discussed a number of topics of common interests, primarily coordination for the Manama Dialogue.
