Foreign Ministry Undersecretary meets with IISS Executive Director

Manama, Mar. 10 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa Al Khalifa, met today at the ministry’s headquarters with the Executive Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in the Middle East (IISS), Sir Tom Beckett. During the meeting, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed Sir Tom Beckett, praising his efforts in developing the role of IISS in the Middle East and the advanced level it has reached in the field of conducting studies and research, as well as organizing conferences that deal with important regional and international issues related to the security and stability of the region. Dr. Shaikha Rana expressed appreciation for fruitful cooperation between the ministry and IISS in the Middle East, which serves the achievement of common goals. She also noted the positive results of Manama Dialogue 2020 and the praise it has received from around the world, wishing Sir Tom Beckett and all those in charge of the institute further success. For his part, Sir Tom Beckett expressed his pride in meeting Dr. Shaikha Rana, stressing keenness of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in the Middle East to further develop cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity. During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of topics and issues of common concern, in addition to exchanging views and consultations regarding the forthcoming Manama Dialogue.
