Foreign Ministry Undersecretary meets Philippines official

Manama, Dec.29 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Daij Al Khalifa, highlighted the distinguished friendship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of the Philippines . She underlined His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s policy of openness and cooperation with the countries of the world, supported by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to develop various aspects of joint work with the Republic of the Philippines in a way that supports development and prosperity between both countries. This came during a meeting with the Department of the Philippines Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migrant Workers' Affairs, Sarah Lou Arriola and her accompanying delegation. The Undersecretary welcomed the DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers' Affairs and her visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, which reflects the distinguished relations of cooperation and friendship between the two countries that leads to achieving the common interests of both countries and peoples towards further progress and prosperity. Dr. Shaikha Rana also pointed out the significant role played by the Filipino community in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting their tangible contributions and constant support given to them. The Undersecretary of MoFA expressed appreciation to the Republic of the Philippines for the significant cooperation it extended while combatting COVID-19, as it a major role in the success of the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in securing the return of Bahraini citizens residing in the Philippines while ensuring their safety. She also affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has presented to the world a responsible and successful model in their response to COVID-19, thanks to the wise leadership of His Majesty the King, and the constant follow-up of His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the precautionary and health measures that have been taken and the preventive measures studied. The the DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers' Affairs expressed the Philippines’ pride in its close friendship with Bahrain and the constant progress it is witnessing at all levels, praising the positions of Bahrain in support of the Republic of the Philippines and its prominent role in promoting security and peace at the regional and international levels. She also commended the Kingdom’s handling of COVID-19 and its decision to provide vaccination free of charge to all citizens and residents in a manner that preserves the health and safety of everyone. She praised the Kingdom’s achievements, including combating trafficking in persons, expressing its deep thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the care and respect the Filipino community acquires, and for the evolving cooperation and coordination with the Republic of the Philippines on various issues of common concern, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
