Foreign Ministry Undersecretary participates in youth programme

Manama, Dec.6(BNA): Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, said that the Kingdom of Bahrain is always keen to empower youth for a sustainable future. She noted that the existence of a programme that allows young people to participate in a constructive dialogue on strategic issues reflects the firm belief that the Kingdom has in the capabilities of the youth of this region. This came as Dr. Shaikha Rana delivered a speech in the second edition of the Young Leaders Programme, on the sidelines of the 16th Manama Dialogue, stressing the need to enhance the capabilities of young people and involve them in political decision-making. She stated that we faced countless unprecedented challenges in 2020, adding that governments around the world are adapting to confront the pandemic while ensuring the safety of each of their citizens. She expressed her sincere wishes that the Young Leaders Programme of the Manama Dialogue will benefit the participants. She said that the programme had provided participants the opportunity to inquire and benefit from the experiences of experts in the areas of decision-making in foreign policy and global governance. The Young Leaders Programme aims to contribute to the development of a new generation of empowered young leaders who have useful information and are able to participate outside their borders in strategic issues from all over the Middle East and North Africa. This year's edition saw the participation of 15 young leaders from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, the United Arab Emirates and others.
