Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs receives PAM President

Manama, Aug. 10 (BNA): Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, received today the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) and Chair of the Special Parliamentary Committee on Countering Terrorism, Gennaro Migliore. He praised the strong relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and PAM member states, stressinh joint interest in promoting political dialogue and expanding parliamentary partnership in a way that supports the common goals in consolidating security and peace, combating extremism and terrorism, and achieving sustainable development. He highlighted Bahrain’s keenness on cooperation between the GCC states and the Euro-Mediterranean countries, which would contribute to promoting economic and social integration. He stressed the importance of constructive cooperation in ensuring energy security, green energy transmission, environmental protection, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, protection of cultural heritage, and respect for human rights. Migliore lauded Bahrain’s efforts of the Kingdom in promoting the Gulf parliamentary cooperation with the Euro-Mediterranean countries. He commended the Kingdom’s pioneering contributions to instilling the values of tolerance and dialogue among civilizations, religions and cultures, and laying the foundations for regional and global security, stability and peace.
