Foreign Ministry Undersecretary receives US embassy Charge D'Affaires

Manama, Apr. 7 (BNA): In the context of continuous communication between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives of embassies and diplomatic missions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Chairperson of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, today received the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Margaret Nardi.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the Chargé d'Affairs, lauding deep-rooted historical friendship and strategic alliance between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the friendly United States of America. She also hailed constructive cooperation between the two countries that resulted in political, economic and cultural achievements. She also reviewed means to promote these relations in various fields for the benefit of the two friendly countries and people.
Dr. Shaikha Rana stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has become a pioneering model in combating trafficking in persons, noting Bahrain’s success to maintain its Tier 1 status in the US Department of State Trafficking in Persons Report for the third consecutive year. She also stressed the kingdom's keenness to promote cooperation with the international community to combat trafficking in persons and bring about further accomplishments in this respect.
Dr. Shaikha Rana noted the pivotal role played by the United States of America and its efforts to boost security and stability in the region, affirming Bahrain's keenness to consolidate bilateral cooperation to achieve common goals and aspirations.
For her part, the US Chargé d'Affaires, Margaret Nardi, expressed pride in bilateral relations and their perpetual growth at all levels. She also highlighted the important role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in promoting security and stability in the region, wishing Bahrain further development.
The two sides also discussed a number of issues of common concern.
