Foreign Undersecretary meets Gulf-France Friendship Committee Chairman

Manama, Mar. 27 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa Al Khalifa, met today Senate Member and Chairman of the Gulf-France Friendship Committee, Senator Jean-Marie Bockel, in the French Republic.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hailed the strong friendly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the French Republic, highlighting the mutual keenness of both countries to further develop these relations in various political, economic and cultural fields to achieve the common interests of both countries and people.
Senator Jean-Marie Bockel, noted the special relations linking the two countries, recalling his last visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain in September 2018, during which he met with the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women and other officials in the Kingdom. In that visit, the Senator was briefed on the development of the Kingdom in all fields, including legislations, women development, supporting women, as well as the urban development of the Kingdom.
He also hailed the humanitarian initiatives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa that aim at consolidating the values of tolerance and coexistence in the Bahraini community, as well as enhancing dialogue between different religions and cultures, noting that the Kingdom is a model in this regard. He affirmed the keenness of the French Republic to continue developing relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
The meeting also discussed issues of mutual interests on the regional and international levels.
