Forest fire troubles Lampang

LAMPANG, March 5 (TNA) – Forest fire in the northern province of Lampang triggered smog in the province with the dust particle level reaches the crisis level in some areas. The smog situation worsens due to continuing forest fire as it extends to wider mountainous areas and the attempt by fire fighters and volunteers to control the blaze failed to put it out. Forest fire erupted in forest areas along the Lampang-Jae Hom Road in the Mae Sai Kham reserve forest in Jae Hom district yesterday afternoon. So far, about 100 rai or 40 acres of forest land has been destroyed. The fire causes low visibility and local residents have eye and nose irritation from smoke. The air quality monitoring center in the province found the level of dust particle exceeds the safety level at 120 microgrammes per cubic meter in two sub-districts in Mae Moh แม่เมาะ district.
