Former Thai actress likely to get drowned

BANGKOK, September 11 (TNA) - Physicians said Tuesday afternoon that an autopsy of former Thai actress Paowana Chanajit, dubbed the "Pearl of Asia", showed she was likely to get drowned, lowering the weight that the 69-year old former top Thai movie star died from being murdered. Deputy Director of the Forensics Medicine Institute Police Colonel Dr. Pornchai Suthirakhun told journalists that the autopsy found Paowana's body only had minor injuries and little bruises at the back of her neck, arms and legs. However, the physicians have not ruled out murder from the cause of her death, as more evidence is being collected from the scene, a pond and its vicinity inside her house in Bangkok's suburban Nakhon Pathom Province. According ot the doctors, the autopsy also found the clotting up of some vessels in Paowana's body, which coincided with her medical records of high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, all of which could be the cause of her Monday's death as well. The forensics team has, in the mean time, collected fluids from her lungs, heart, liver and stomach, as well as food inside her stomach for toxic examination, along with blood sample and nails for DNA checks, the results of which are expected within two weeks. The physicians confirmed they initially agreed that drowning was the cause of Paowana's death although how she fell down into the pond has been undetermined.(TNA)
