They arrived in Moscow to participate in large-scale forum of European and Asian mass media. Word “reboot” was often pronounced at the fourth forum of European and Asian mass media. Forum participants believe it is necessary to fully restart the prevailing system of information exchange: to move to a new level of technological and content-interaction.
This is the biggest journalistic meeting in Moscow during the past few years. Not only editors and the heads of dozens of media from 11 countries of the Commonwealth, but also political scientists, heads of ministries and departments of Russia gathered here. The results are creation of several joint, fully functioning interstate councils, foundations and associations for cooperation between representatives of media industry. And journalists talked about contemporary challenges, perspectives and trends.

Armanzhan Baitasov, general director of “Nur Media” LLP:
- Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus create the Customs Union. This supposes countries are seeking to integrate in economy. And representatives of mass media also should strive for this. In the end, we still influence on public opinion, and make some of adjustments.

Ashot Dzhazoyan, general secretary of the International Confederation of Journalist Unions says now more and more journalists for to the Internet publications and profession of journalism is complicated. The trend of recent years is reducing of circulation newspapers and strengthening of role of new media. Members of mass media talked about the joint opposition of so-called cyber-crime, plagiarism, as well as the spread of violence and brutality across the global Internet. The President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev also joined the discussion. He answered many questions, such as situation with freedom of speech and foreign policy priorities of Moscow. He particularly stressed the importance of the coming 2010, Kazakhstan’s presiding Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, one of the most influential and authoritative international organizations and he added Kazakhstan is the most active participant in the integration processes in CIS.

Dmitry Medvedev, President of Russia:
- The fact that our partner will chair the OSCE is very good and I said it from the start. I think it will help the OSCE to find a new place. The idea of a summit of OSCE would be very, very useful because the leaders didn’t meet long ago. And it is necessary to meet periodically at various European venues.

Another large-scale discussion area will be April’s Eurasian Media Forum in Almaty.
