Full coverage for BIAS pledged

Manama, Nov. 6 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi has stressed the ministry's keenness to provide a comprehensive television and radio coverage of the 5th edition of Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS) which will be held under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at Sakhir Air Base from November 14 to 16. He pointed out the ministry's commitment to putting its technical, engineering and media capabilities to support the efforts of the exhibition's High Organising Committee which is chaired by Personal Representative of HM the King Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He underlined keenness to highlight the international event in local, regional and international mass media. The Information Minister pointed out preparation of a studio for live radio broadcasting of the event and its allied activities. He also emphasised the role of Bahrain News Agency in providing news coverage of the show, pointing out contribution of the National Communication Centre in providing the needed facilities for access of foreign media persons and their technical equipment in coordination with the competent authorities. Al Romaihi expressed confidence in the kingdom's ability to continue its successful march of organising the international exhibition for the fifth time since its inception in 2010. He praised the kingdom's national competencies, strategic location, stability, modern infrastructure, advanced tourism, hospitality and economic capabilities and high organisational and administrative potentials. He also pointed out the distinguished efforts of BIAS High Organising Commitee, which is chaired by Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The Information Minister said Sakhir Air Base welcomes all visitors from around the world to enjoy the show's programme and functions. He affirmed that the exhibition will bring together major companies as well as specialised regional and international authorities in military and civil aviation industry, technological research and logistic space. He commended large participation in the exhibition, pointing out a 70% increase in the number of exhibitors compared to the previous edition of 2016. He also lauded the outstanding presence of the Saudi, Emirati and Kuwait companies which embodies historic fraternal relations and contributes to promoting Bahrain's status as a pioneering regional and international hub in the specialised exhibition and conference industry.
