GCC Summit media centre opened

Manama, Dec. 5 (BNA): A state-of-the-art media centre was opened today on the eve of the of the 37th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit. Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al-Rumaihi inaugurated the media hub in the presence GCC Assistant Secretary-General for Cultural and Media Affairs Khalid bin Salem bin Mohammed Al-Ghasani, heads of media delegations, GCC ambassadors and leading Gulf, Arab and international diplomatic, press and media personalities.
Addressing ceremony, he described the summit, which will be chaired by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, as representing a historic event and new catalyst to pursue the GCC progress of comprehensive development and protect the identity, security and stability of its member states.
"More than 350 journalists representing 25 GCC, Arab and international news agencies and press and media establishments will cover the 37th summit", he said stressed the ministry's keenness on providing all technical facilities and media services.
The centre features editorial units, wired and wireless telecommunications networks, radio and TV studios, video, editing and production rooms in addition to media stands showcasing GCC related books and publications.
