Germany keen to participate in Manama Dialogue'

Manama, Dec. 11 (BNA): German Ambassador to Bahrain, Alfred Simms-Protz, has highlighted the importance of the Manama Dialogue Forum in consolidating the national security of participating countries, reiterating his country's keenness on taking part in the key security event since its inception 12 years ago. The ambassador said that his country has always participated with high-profile delegations, noting that Defence Minister, Ursula Gertrud von der Leyen, who took part in this year's edition, affirmed her keenness to be present in the coming editions, given the event's importance in coming up with recommendations that would reflect positively on efforts to strengthen the security of Germany, in particular, and the world, in general. The German envoy affirmed the statement of his country's defence minister during the Manama Dialogue on the need to eliminate terrorism and dry up its sources, adding that eradication of terrorism cannot be achieved through military operations only, but also through concerted international efforts. He said that the massive presence in this year's edition and the rich discussions during it prove its crucial importance in strengthening security, noting that that the meetings held on the sidelines of eth Manama Dialogue were fruitful and will consolidate security relations between the participating countries.
